The President, Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, George Olamide has stated that the federation will not punish any athlete who attended the illegal All-Comers Meet held in Ozoro, Delta State, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report

It could be recalled that the impeached former AFN President, Ibrahim Gusau organised a purported parallel All-Comers Meet in Delta at a time the AFN George Olamide led board held theirs in Akure which was attended by the Minister of sports, Sunday Dare.

Reacting to insinuations that the AFN board will sanction the athletes who went to Ozoro, AFN president, George Olamide debunked the rumours that the few athletes who attended the illegal competition in Ozoro in Delta state will be sanctioned.

“That is just a figment of imagination of people who are bent on distracting us but we are focussed.

The very few athletes who were in Ozoro travelled over night to Akure to participate in our All-Comers competition after realising they have been mislead into going to Ozoro,” Olamide said on Sunday.
