Less than two weeks after she made her historic Olympic debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Japan, Nigeria female taekwondoist Elizabeth Anyanacho on Wednesday visited an orphanage home in Abuja to show appreciation to God for His love and also to identify with the kids who had no parents of theirs, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The visits which took place on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 saw the silver medal winner at the African Taekwondo Championship in Dakar, Senegal visit Amazing Tots Children Home, at an Abuja satlite town, Lugbe.

Ms Anayanacho was accompanied at the visit by her mentor and coach, Honourable Chika Chukwumerije, Olympic medallist.

At the visit, the 300 level Statistics student of Federal University of Technology Owerri, FUTO spent quality time with the kids along with the management, interacting and sharing ideas with them.

Speaking with our correspondent after the visit, the talented taekwondoist expressed deep appreciation to God for the favour upon her and promised to make the visit a regular norm.

“Before travelling to Tokyo for the Olympics, this was one of my projects, to come and identify with these children. To come and interact with them and give them support and hope in any little way I can.

“To come and show support to the management and every other person out there taking care of kids and persons not directly related to them. It gives me immense joy to see that these children are being giving hope to live again

“In them we have capable Nigerians and individuals who can shape and reshape our world. We have gifted athletes and scholars within them that will make our country proud in sports, technology, and life generally.

“So I am happy to have here today to share time with them. I am hopeful of doing this regularly,” she said.

The 21-year old donated various provisions, toiletries as well as cooking ingredients such as indomine noddles, milk, toilet roll, detergents, soap, Sugar, tooth paste among others to the management of the orphanage.

Elizabeth Anyanacho made her Olympic debut on July 26 where she gallantly lost to two-time Olympic medallist, Nur Tarkar of Turkey in the first round.

She lost the bout 2-7.

However, one interesting aspect of this young lady is the fact that she qualified for the Olympics four years before her projected time of 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
