Former Manchester City and Italian striker Mario Balotelli has been sacked by Brescia after he failed to report for training for the second time.

Reports say the club owner Massimo Cellino sent Balotelli a letter requesting the termination of his three-year contract at the club.

The decision comes after Balotteli, who earns £877,000-a-year at Brescia, missed 10 days of training in January and a non-mandatory session on May 26.

He then missed another session last week without permission, prompting Cellino to take action after a meeting with Balotelli on May 29 to clear the air failed to materialise.

Balotelli singed a two year deal with his home town club last summer but has a clause in his contract that allows him to terminate the deal if the club is relegated to Serie B.

The 29-year-old former Manchester City and Liverpool player, according to the reports have reached a financial settlement with the club as he seeks to look for a new club in the coming season.

Already, the player is being linked with a move to Brazilian club Vasco da Gama, Turkish side Galatasaray and a series of MLS clubs.

In his stint with the club, the former Inter Milan striker has netted five times in 19 Serie A games with Brescia sitting bottom of the league.

Balotelli have had stints with Inter Milan, Olympique Marseille, Liverpool, Milan, all of which ended in termination.
