The Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC Football Coaches Council has announced dates and registration formalities for the 2019 U-13 and U15 Football Summer camp competitions, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

In a release made available, the Public Relations Officer of the council, Coach Ifeanyi Odogwu said that the purpose of the competition is to provide enabling environment for the school children to showcase their talents as well as the need to champion the council’s deep-rooted belief in discovering and harness talents for the future of the game in the FCT.

The release further noted that eligibility for participation is strictly by open screening which will be conducted in the presence of the national Under-16 head coach and national Under-17 scouting coach adding that all the matches will be played at the Area 3 Football Pitch in Garki.

The registration fees for the two categories are N23, 500 for U-13 and N16, 500 for U-15.

Speaking in an interview, Coach Ifeanyi said that evey modality has been put in place to make the competition a success and called on private companies to come and sponsor the competition and advertise their products and services.

“We are putting everything in place to ensure that the competition becomes a huge success. You and I know that the children will embark on a long vacation after the end of the 2018/19 academic session and this is the right time for us to offer them a platform to come and showcase their talents.

“As always, our major challenge is funding because we have a lot of things we want to package for the kids but we don’t have the resources to implement them. That is why we are calling on private individuals and companies to come and support/sponsor the competition and reap the benefits. They can bring along their products and services and also form a backdrop for the competition.

“We have a lot of incentives which I cannot name right now but before the competition starts next week, we will roll out all that we have,” he said.

The AMAC Abuja Coaches Council U-13 and U-15 Summer Football Championship screening exercise will hold on Wednesday, 24 July, 2019 at Area 3 Football Pitch, Garki by 8am.

The competition kicks off on Monday, 29 July, 2019.
