Bayelsa Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Mr Ayibaina Duba has assured members of the State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN of a cordial working relationship.

Mr.  Duba gave the assurance when the State executive members of the SWAN paid him a visit at his office in Yenagoa.

The state image maker while lauding SWAN for its unrelenting effort and professionalism towards reporting sporting activities in the State and country said the ministry would continue to partner Sports Writers to achieve set goals.

While applauding the state SWAN  chairman, for his leadership style, Mr Duba  commended the Association  for increasing the number of  registered members in the State to a respectable figure.

Earlier, the chairman of SWAN, Bayelsa state Chapter, Mr. Datonye Alambo said the essence of the visit was to seek partnership and areas of mutual benefit as well as solicit the ministry’s support as it embarks on various programmes and activities

He pointed out that the dream of the current executive of SWAN Bayelsa was to see that members favourably compete with their counterparts across the country through capacity building.

Mr Alambo also stressed that the goal of the association was to groom younger Sports Writers to bring the state to limelight through sports reporting.

He congratulated the Commissioner over his appointment by Governor Douye Diri, wishing him success in his assignment
