Newly promoted side, Bendel Insurance have arrived Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital ahead if the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League opening match against Akwa United.

The match which is the only game to be played on the opening day of the season will hold at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Sunday.

Akwa United, 2021 champions, are aiming to begin the new season on a good note but the Benin Arsenal are poised to give them a run for their money on Sunday.

Aside the Uyo clash, other matchday one fixtures of the new season will hold a week later as Nigeria Football Federation, NFF parleys the Club Owners and Interim Management Committee, IMC towards finding a balance in the new league season

Club Owners have vehemently opposed the abridged league format adopted by the IMC but the IMC is also adamant in starting the league abridged.

Club Owners then threatened to boycott the league.
