CAF Appoints Rwandan Hakizimana As Centre Referee For CAR/Nigeria World Cup Qualifier

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has appointed Rwandan referee Louis Hakizimana to officiate the matchday 4 2022 World Cup qualifier between Central Africa Republic, CAR and Nigeria, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The match will hold in Duoala Cameroon on Sunday, October 10.

Hakizimana, 42, will be assisted by compatriots Ambroise Hakizimana (assistant referee 1), Dieudonne Mutuyimana (assistant referee 2) and Jean Claude Ishimwe (fourth official) at the game that kicks off 2pm Cameroon time at the Stade Japoma.

Eusebio Engono Nguema from Equatorial Guinea will be referee assessor for the day while Illou Mahamadou from Niger Republic will serve as match commissioner. Dr Moussa Baba Djaouro from Cameroon will be the medical officer.

Hakizimana is Rwanda’s most experienced referee and has over the last ten years handled big matches in various competitions including the CAF Champions League, the Confederation Cup, Africa Olympic Games qualifiers, Africa U-20 Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers.

In 2019, Hakizimana was among referees who were operating the VAR technology during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals tournament following his recent training on the handling and technological aspects of the Video Assistant Referees (VAR) in South Africa

The Super Eagles had their official training at the Stade Japoma de Douala from 4pm Cameroon time on Saturday and are looking forward to Sunday’s duel, days after the Les Fauves shocked them in Lagos to collect all three points
