Newcomers, Correction Boys and Benue Buffaloes were the giant killers as they defeated defending champion Kano Pillars and former champion Safety Shooters respectively on day 8 of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2023 phase 1 ongoing in Benin City, Edo State.
The shocking defeats saw Correction Boys standing tall above Safety Shooters with a well fought 21-20 victory to the amazement of fans who were watching the streamed game online and pundits as well on Sunday.

Tojemarine Academy continue to lead the league table as they defeated Bendel Dynamos 33-19 while Lagos Seasiders defeated De Defenders 22-20.
In the women category, Rima Queens defeated Plateau Peacocks 23-17 while Bayelsa Queens have won two games on a bounce after defeating Benue Queens 29-20.

Defender Babes edged Delta Force with a 26-19 victory while Safety Babes outscored Seasider Babes to earn a 42-29 victory.
Imo Grasshoppers poor form of run continue as they lost to Bendel Dynamos 24-23.
