The duo of Thankgod Chukwuemeka Adindu and Emmanuel Ogonna Nwabueze of Dreamland Football Academy, Abia State made history as the first players to represent Nigeria in the new sports – Teqball in the 1st African Beach Games (SAL 2019) on going in Cape Verde, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report

The players enjoyed an all-expenses paid trip to the City of Sal, Cape Verde under the invitation of the Federation International de Teqball (FITEQ) to represent Nigeria in the sports that involved twelve African countries.

It will be recalled that Dreamland Football Academy, Galadima Football Academy and the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports were the beneficiaries of the three Teqball tables donated by the Embassy of Hungary in Abuja during the finals of 5th Dreamland-Embassy of Hungary Cup project held on November 10th, 2018 at the Moshood Abiola (National) Stadium Abuja, Nigeria.

No doubt the new sports – Teqball – is well accepted and it is developing fast in Nigeria.

Speaking with Best Choice Sports on the development, Dreamland Academy Chairman/CEO, Ndudi Edede described it as the fruit of great work the academy is doing adding that their emergence as Teqball players to represent Nigeria at a continental championship is a manifestation of hardwork, commitment and passion to discover, nurture and groom talents in the country which the academy is set out for.

“I am not surprised about the players in the teqball. To some persons even those in the round leather game, teqball may sound strange but that is the beauty of what we do here in the academy.

“Our priority is not just to discover these talents, we also nurture them and prepare them ahead. Nigeria is richly blessed in all ramifications and at Dreamland Academy, we are set out to, in our own little way, discover and groom these talents and take them to the world.

“Thankgod and Emmanuel are just few of the talents we have been developing in the academy. In every edition of the our competition, Dreamland/Embassy of Hungary Youth Championship, players have been discovered and sent out for further development.

“In the last edition held in May, 5 players were discovered and arrangements for them to travel abroad for further developmental programme have been concluded.

“We wish the Dreamland boys the best of luck as they represent Nigeria in an international tournament. Right now they are not just our products but Nigeria ambassadors. We can only wish them well and believe they emerge victorious,” he said.

The 2019 maiden edition of the African Teqball Beach Games in Cape Verde, will end on June 18th, 2019.
