Nigeria’s CAF Confederation Cup campaigners, Enyimba International FC of Aba Sunday qualified for the quarter-final of the competition after trouncing Cote d’Ivoire’s San Pedro 5-2 away in Abidjan.

Victor Mbaoma notched a brace with Abdulrahman Bashir, Augustine Oladapo and Stanley Dimgba added the others as the visitors ran riot at Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny. The hosts got their goals through Nigeria-born Sherif Jimoh and Irie Zan Bi.

The Nigerians went into this game needing any results but a defeat as they were tied in a neck to neck race with Algeria’s Paradou. The Algerians were in Morocco taking on Hassania Agadir.

Enyimba finished the group with 10 points, one less than Hassania Agadir.

In another Pool D encounter, Paradou beat Hassania Agadir 3-0 but the result wasn’t enough to help them proceed to the next round. They finished third with eight points while San Pedro wrapped up the group with three points from three draws.
