Turkish and European football club giants, Fenerbahce, are ready to launch a €12m loan bid for out-of-favour Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho, Bestchoicesports.com.ng understands

Report in Turkey says the Nigerian international has been subject to talk that he will depart the King Power Stadium this summer with Brendan Rodgers said to have his eyes on Celtic forward Ousmane Edouard.

And that has seen clubs from across the Premier League and continental Europe look to Iheanacho this summer.

A road of escape seems to have opened for the Super Eagles forward who has been struggling to make the first eleven of the English side.

Aston Villa and Celtic are said to be amongst those clubs that had registered an interest and now Fenerbahce have joined the race.

Erol Bulut’s side, who underperformed this season with a seventh-place finish in the SuperLig, are on the brink of parting ways with popular forward Vedat Muriqi.

That departure will see them pocket €16m and a report by Fotospor claims that €12m of that will be offered to Leicester in the hope of securing two-year loan deal for Iheanacho.

But there is a catch for the Foxes who will be asked to foot the bill for his wages throughout his time in Turkey, the report claims.

The 23-year-old, who joined the club from Manchester City for a fee of £25m back in 2017, still has two years left on his current deal at the King Power Stadium meaning, if the deal comes to fruition, the remainder of his time as a Leicester City player will be spent in Istanbul.

The departure of Iheanacho this summer will help the Foxes to raise funds to help attract a partner for golden boot winner Jamie Vardy next season.

Rodgers has been heavily linked with a swoop for Celtic star Edouard but that could cost anywhere between £30m-£40m.

Iheanacho has scored nine Premier League goals for the Foxes in 71 outings but that stat does not paint the full picture with the youngster so frequently featuring as a substitute for Leicester.

The striker has scored a goal every 192 minutes in all competitions and enjoyed his best goalscoring season in 2019-20.
