Ex Players Commend Rangers For NPFL Super 6 Qualification

Seven-time Nigeria league champions and reigning Aiteo cup champions, Rangers International F.C, the ‘Flying Antelopes’ has been commended for its feat in picking a ticket for the end of season ‘Super-Six’ play off while urging the Olugbenga Ogunbote tutored side to put in extra effort to enable it be crowned league champions for the eighth time in Lagos.

The commendations came from the umbrella body of former players of the club, Ex-Rangers International Footballers Association at the end of its monthly meeting held in Enugu, Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

Secretary of the association, Edmond Ndukamma, who spoke on behalf of the chairman, Prince Davidson Owumi, said that the association was very proud of the exploits of the current squad in both continental and domestic encounters but stressed that much effort was needed to become the ultimate champion of the 2018/2019 league season.

“The association at the end of its monthly meeting, unanimously applauded the efforts of the current Rangers team for making us proud especially in the regular season where they came top of their group while urging them to guide their lions very well in the play off and conquer other teams to become league champions again,” stated the scribe of the association.

The hard-as-a-nail defender in his playing days further said that the association was also proud of the achievements of its chairman and the general manager of Rangers, Prince Davidson Owumi for bringing his ‘Midas touch’ to bear on the club while also thanking Enugu state executive governor, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his financial and moral support to the club and association.

“We wish to specially appreciate Enugu state governor, H.E Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for all he has been doing for the club and the retired players. We resolved to identify with his government as that of Anambra state led by H.E Willy Obiano who has always been there for us. We seek for more partnership just as we commend the hard working Rangers’ G.M, Prince Davidson Owumi who has shown that he knows what he came to do in Rangers,” Ndukamma said.

He further expressed the association’ thanks to Enugu state government, Femi Otedola and other well meaning individuals and bodies for taking action to rescue the association’ immediate past chairman and former Super Eagles gaffer, Christian Chukwu (Mfr) during the period his health challenges.
