EXCLUSIVE: Ahmed Musa Leaves Al Nassr Club

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa has left his Saudi Arabia club, Al Nassr two years after joining ging the club, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can exclusively report

The former VVV Venlo star joined the Saudi Arabi side in 2018 from English Premier League side, Leicester City.

It was nor clear why the former Nigeria Professional Football League, NPGL highest goal scorer with Kano Pillars is calling it quit with the club

The forward signed a four-year deal with Al Nassr in August 2018 meaning that his contract was supposed to run till 2022 season.

But the club confirmed Musa’s departure in a short video on their Twitter handle with ‘then you’ message.

“Thank you Nigerian falcon, wishing you all the best in the future! @Ahmedmusa718,” the club said on Sunday

The Nigeria captain was earlier rumoured to be leaving the club Al Nassr this summer but he quashed the speculation.

Musa has been linked with a move to Turkish club Fenerbahce this summer despite a below par campaign with Al Nassr.

The 27-year-old failed to register a goal in 17 league appearances for Al Nassr this season.

The former Kano Pillars striker has only managed two goals this season in 23 league appearances as his Riyadh club lost their championship to bitter rivals Al Hilal.

It is also known that the Super Eagles skipper has disengaged the agent, William D’Avilla, who brokered his transfer to Saudi Arabia from Leicester City in 2018.

Al Nassr splashed out 16.5 million Euros to sign Ahmed Musa from the Premier League and he still has two years left on his contract.

But it is understood that the Al Nassr had to part ways with Musa following the marque signing of Argentina star Gonzalo Martinez for 18 million Euros.

Martinez will join Al Nassr from Serie A club Atalanta in the new season after he netted four goals and provided three assists in 10 matches.

Al Nassr have also been linked with Metzut Ozil with reports suggesting a record personal deal of 17 million Euros for the Arsenal star.

Musa helped the club to win the 2019 Saudi Arabia League as well as the where he scored 7 goals in 24 appearances.
