Rewine the clock to two years ago, and you will be talking about two days after Mr Adam Mouktar Mohammed emerged victorious at the 2019 FCT FA elections held at the Kuje Area.

Precisely on June 20, 2019, the young ebullient administrator withstood all odds, faced with power of incumbency by the then chairman of the FA, Mr Mouktar rose on the goodwill of the FCT FA stakeholders to defeat the then incumbent, Mr Musa Talle in a historical election.

Upon emergence as the new chairman, Mr Mouktar promised to give football, particularly grassroots, a face-lift in the FCT.

Two years down the lane, Mr Mouktar, speaking in an exclusive interview with Bestchoicesports.com.ng said he has delivered and still delivering on his promises to FCT football family.

He stated that the board has delivered on its promised and have achieved beyond its set targets just midway into its lifespan.

“We are thankful, we promised, all in all, I am very satisfied we have achieved well above our targets and the expectations of the public. We have been able to impact on every aspect, human capital development of players, Coaches, Referees;

“Infrastructure, competitions, international events and partnerships, public perception and confidence.

“Attraction of sponsorship, transparency and accountability,” he stated.

He noted that the FA set a roadmap to rekindle hope in FCT football as well as finding new ways to overcome the challenges occasioned by the outbreak of Covid-19 last year.

“We have rekindled hope and there is joy all over the FCT and positive things to show.

“We have gotten alot of commendations from across the country and I sincerely hope it motivates others to emulate and even aspire to do more so Football in the end is the Winner!

“We have a road map and we are determined to follow through on it. Despite some challenges with emergence of Covid 19 we have also built resilience and new solutions to live with the new normal

“We must grow football. We must sustain football. We must build legacy foundations that out live us for the next generation.

“We must stay focused and keep our eyes on the ball. Football is played inside the green pitch not outside. Less talk and more action/results.”

Mr Mouktar who is the Cheif Executive Officer of Hearts Football Club that have churned out talented players outside the country, expressed hope for FCT football development.

“The future looks bright but we must continue to build new talents, Build infrastructure and new competitions.”

Within two years in office, Mr Mouktar have bagged various awards including Excellent and Transparent leadership award by the Centre for Peace, Transparency and Accountability in November 2020.
