Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Emmanuel Ndubuisi Egbo has been sacked by his club despite making history with the KF Tirana as the first Africa Coach to guide a club to win a Champions League match

Coach Ekpo who guided the club to win the 2019/2020 Albanian League Champions, was sacked on Thursday

A statement by the noted that the coach was allowed to leave after the club’s unimpressive performances in recent times.

The statement reads; “Tirana Football Club announces the discharge of coach Emmanuel Egbo. After the team’s unfortunate performance in the last matches, Egbo will no longer be in the top of white and blue because of missing results.

“The club thanks him for his dedication and successes, which peaked with the return of the champion home title.

“Wishing him success in his career, the champions camp gives a special value of success in the last season to the man who has been and will be part of the white and blue family for years. Thank you, Egbo.”

The Albanian side suffered a 0-1 home loss to Korabi on Thursday and has only won two of their last five games (with LLWWL rating).

Egbo became the first-ever Nigerian coach to lead a European team to a league title after his team were crowned 2019/2020 Albanian League champions, the team also qualified for the UEFA Champions League.
