Former Super Eagles handler, Sunday Oliseh has expressed sadness over the negative reports and unbelief people have expressed against the Covid-19 vaccine.l, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report

Oliseh who was among the few former captains to also coach the Eagles team disclosed this after taking his Covid-19 vaccine on Saturday.

In his Facebook post thereafter, the former Juventus and Borussia Dotmund midfielder reckoned that the vaccine had ‘side effects’ on him.

These ‘side effects’ he enumerated to include “Hope, relief, gratefulness, joy, and the sadness…”

“Got my first shot of the covid 19 vaccine today (Saturday) & these are the Side effects I am feeling right now: Hope, relief, gratefulness, joy, and the sadness that some of us are still unfoundedly anti-covid vaccines,” he said.

He urged everybody to take the vaccine and get protected.

“I urge you to take the vaccines and protect yourself & others. Stay safe.”

Oliseh won the Nations Cup as a player in 1994 and Olympic gold in Atlanta in 1996.

Sunday Oliseh who had almost a decade career with the Super Eagles spanking 1993 to 2002 with 45 caps and 2 goals also coached the team for less than a year from July 2015 to February 2016.

In July 2015 he was unveiled by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as Super Eagles head coach where he made an impressive statistic of playing 14 Games with 2 losses scoring 19 Goals and conceded 6.

He qualified Nigeria to the CHAN (Africa Nations Championship) tournament in Rwanda, qualified Nigeria to the Group phase of the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers and on his first game as Chief Coach of Nigeria in an AFCON qualifier managed a draw in Tanzania.

He resigned as Nigeria’s national coach at about 2:28am on 26 February 2016 exactly a month to the team’s encounter with the Pharaohs of Egypt in the AFCON qualifiers.

He was barely 8 months into his stay as manager but due to contract violations, lack of support, unpaid wages and benefits to his players, Asst. Coaches and himself, Oliseh, styled “Africa Guardiola” by NFF left his post.
