President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Super Falcons of Nigeria after their win against Korea in the ongoing 2019 FIFA World Cup in France, understands

President Muhammadu Buhari Wednesday evening felicitated with the Super Falcons of Nigeria for their victory over Korea Republic and expressed gladness on the victory.

Nigeria suffered an embarrassing 3-0 defeat in their first game against Norway and needed a win against Korea to rescue themselves from early elimination from the tournament.

Super Falcons however did themselves lots of good by beating Korea 2-0 in their second group game at the Women’s World Cup in France.

Reacting to the feat, President Buhari made it clear on his social media account that he watched the game and also congratulated the Super Falcons.

”I am pleased I was able to watch the Super Falcons match against South Korea, after the Democracy Day Lunch. Congratulations to the Team and Coaching Crew. A well-deserved win on a very special day for Nigeria. We are all proud of your victory,” President Buhari explained.

Nigeria will face host nation France in their final group game in which Super Falcons must avoid a defeat.

Super Falcons bounced back to winning ways at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in France following their 2-0 win over Korea Republic.

Coach Thomas Dennerby kicked off their campaign with a heavy defeat owing to their 3-0 defeat to Norway.

The African champions however brightened their chances of narrowly making it through to the next stage their their first victory at the tournament
