Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku stated his vision to make Ghanaian clubs dominant forces in African football, Bestchoicesports.com.ng reports.

Okraku noted that revamping the Ghana Premier League is top of his agenda as he outlines his vision as the Ghana FA boss.

Okraku replaced Kwési Nyantakyi as the president of GFA in October last year and has vowed to revive local football and ensure Ghanaian clubs compete for continental glory.

In an interview with a Ghanaian radio station, Okraku said that he has empowered the Ghana Premier League to independently run the league away from the FA.

“It’s the goal of the FA to improve our championship and that’s why we decided to play create an independent league. In this case, the organizers will have their hands free to work,” he said.

Okraku said he will also focus on improving the country’s football referees and create a balanced and competitive body.

“Once again, our decision to change the referee structures is a step in the right direction. We want to find and improve talented referees. So in the future, I think we will get a better league under my mandate.”
