Two-time champions, Golden Eaglets of Nigeria this afternoon defeated Tanzania in the opening game of the 2019 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report. 
The lads led by Manu Garba beat the Tanzanians 5-4 in a trilling encounter that saw Eaglets concede three goals within seven minutes including two penalties early in the second half. 
Olatomi Alfred scored the tournament’s first goal in the 20th minute after he pounced on a rebound but the host nation responded with the equaliser within seconds. 
Wisdom Ubani restored Nigeria’s lead in the 25 minute while Akin Amoo made it 3-1 before the half time. 
On resumption, the Eaglets capitulated and conceded a goal in the 52nd minute before two quick penalties turned the scoreline in Tanzanians’ favour.
Ubani restored parity for Nigeria after he scored a wonderful free kick that went off the goalkeepers hand and hit the top roof. 
Ibrahim Jabbaar scored the winning goal at the 76th minute following a sublime shot from the outside box. 
Nigeria tops Group A with three points. The Eaglets will take on their next opponents, Uganda on Wednesday,  April 17, 2019.
