The President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Mr. Samuel Ocheho has congratulated Coach Ferdinand Emeana on his appointment as the Director of Sports, Imo State Sports Commission.

Coach Ferdinand became the Director of Sports recently after the retirement of the immediate past occupant, Mr. Emmanuel Metu.

Mr. Sam Ocheho in his congratulatory message on Sunday, said Coach Ferdinand was well deserving of the appointment as he had actively done well beforehand in such positions especially in the development of handball in Nigeria.

“I want to congratulate Coach Ferdinand on his appointment as the Director of Sports of the Imo State Sports Commission.

“I am confident that Coach Ferdinand will certainly thrive in his new office as he has performed excellently in such positions previously especially in the development of handball in Nigeria,” Mr Ocheho started.

He also noted that with Mr Ferdinand on the saddle, Imo people will witness immense changes in handball development in the state.

“I, thus want to congratulate the people of Imo State because with Coach Ferdinand, I know it’s a new dawn for the development of sports in the state as you have in a man who understands all aspect of the development from conceptualization, administering to actualization”. Ocheho said.

Coach Ferdinand Emeana has been a force in handball in Nigeria with the best of experience in terms of playing, coaching and administration of the sports.

He was recently a member of the board of the Handball Federation of Nigeria from 2017 to 2021 where he was the technical director with flying colours.
