Super Eagles winger and new Watford FC signing, Samuel Kalu has disclosed that he was happy to sign for the relegation strugglers even as he expressed readiness to get started.
With European Leagues on hold due to FIFA window, Kalu will, however, wait for almost two weeks before he could have a taste of the Hornets and EPL game. The January FIFA window runs from January 24 through February 1sth.
The 24-year old who signed contract with undisclosed fee that will keep him at the Vicarage Road till June, 2025.
Speaking during his unveiling on Wednesday, Kalu expressed delight in joining the club and expressed readiness to get into action
“Hello Watford fans, I am happy to be here. I can’t wait to get started. Thank you,” he said in a 6 seconds visit posted on Watford’s Twitter Page.
Kalu has become the 5th Nigeria player currently in Watford’s employ.
The other players are, striker, Emmanuel Dennis; goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye; defender, William Troost-Ekong and midfielder Peter Etebo, on loan from stoke.
In November, Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper Okoye signed for Watford from Sparta Rotterdam, but will remain with the Dutch side for the rest of the season.
Watford which sacked former coach Claudio Ranieri last week and replaced him with former England Manager, Roy Hodgson found themselves in the relegation mud after their 3-0 home loss against fellow strugglers, Norwich on Friday.
