Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL new comers, Jigawa Golden Stars football club has appointed a new chairman to oversee the activities of the club, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The new chairman, Air commodore Abubakar Sadiq (rtd)

Jigawa State governor Badaru Abubakar approved the appointment of the teams steering committee which also has Adamu Buje Hadejia, Sabo Saleh Gantsa and Munir Adamu Kazaure as members.

A statement by the secretary to the state government Adamu Abdilkadir Fanini says the appointment is based on merit and takes immediate effect.

The new Chairman Air Commodore Abubakar Sadiq retired from the Nigerian Airforce in 2010 as Director logistics after thirty four years of service.

He served as the interior chairman of Jigawa Golden Stars from 2015-2017 when he lifted the club to the comfort zone which was then struggling at the bottom of the table.

The new Chairman speaking with NTA in a telephone reiterated the committee’s commitment to exposition the club to take it’s rightful place among it’s peers in the nation’s elite football league.

He thanked Governor Badaru Abubakar for finding him and members of the committee worthy of the appointment and called on the sports loving people of Jigawa state to lend their support to them to succeed in the discharge of their assignment.
