Newly appointed Super Eagles Coach, Jose Peseiro have disclosed of his desire to win Nigeria’s fourth Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

Peseiro, appointed Eagles Coach in May will resume work with the team in the US when the there-time Africa Champions take on Mexico and Ecuador in two international friendly matches.

The Portuguese, 62, declared that he “will work with great ambition, so that in the end we can finally call Nigeria the “four-time African champions”!”

Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup after losing the ticket to Ghana in March and with the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON qualifying race set to begin in June, Peseiro seems to understand the enormity of responsibility placed on him in handling the team.

“Pride! It is with great pride and joy that I am the coach of one of the greatest football nations in the world,” Mr Peseiro wrote on his Twitter handle.

“Commanding the Super Eagles starts with knowing how to respect the history, value it and be inspired by its roots.”

Coach Peseiro who have come under severe criticism by a section of the Nigerian media for not having a credible curriculum vitae, will be assisted by former Nigeria international forward and Enyimba International FC Coach, Finidi George and Salisu Yusuf as his first and second assistants respectively

Former Enyimba FC Coach, Usman Abdallah is his 3rd assistant, Eboboritse Uwejamomere as the match analyst and another former international, Ike Shorounmu the goalkeepers’ trainer.
