Super Eagles and Nigeria football legend, Kanu Nwakwo has congratulated his compatriot, Samuel Chukwueze on winning the 2021 UEFA Europa League, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

Chukwueze won the trophy on Wednesday after his club, Villarreal defeated Manchester United 11-10 on penalties in the final played at the Stadion Miejski in Gdansk, Poland.

Although Chukwueze was not listed for the match due to injury, he was however part of the players who trvalled to Poland for the final.

Gerard Moreno scored in the 29tn minute to give the Yellow Submarines the lead but Edinson Cavani restored parity in the second half at 55 minute of the encounter for the Red Devils.

Reacting to the victory, Kanu who won the cup with Inter Milan In 1998 congratulated Chukwueze.

“Congratulations Chuwkueze,” Kanu, popularly call Papilo posted on his Twitter hand in a picture.

Chekwueze have joined other former Suoer Eagles stars such as Chidi Odiah, Kanu Nwnkwo, Mikel Obi, Celestine Babayaro among others in Europa League winner book.
