The National Assembly has approved the 2019 budgetary allocation submitted by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
The chairman, Senate Committee on Sports, Obinna Ogba disclosed this in an interview.
Although the Ebonyi State senator did not disclose how much was budgeted for by the football federation, he however said that the budget the Glass House submitted was approved by the lawmakers without subtraction or alteration.
“Everything they requested, as far as sports is concerned, the national assembly approved it. We did not remove anything. That is our own role which we have played, the rest is left for the executive to implement and release the funds for them.
“It is also my duty to make sure that budgetary allocations are approved and signed and I can assure you that everything NFF and the ministry requested was approved in the budget.
“Again, we have done our part by appropriating the budget so it is now left for the executive to release the fund for them. However, all of us should be praying for the teams to succeed in their various competitions because we do not have any other country apart from Nigeria,” he said.
