The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has congratulated the nation’s male U-17 team for reaching the final of the 2022 West Africa Football Union, WAFU Zone B U-17 tournament as well as picking one of the two tickets for the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria will take on Burkina Faso in the final of the WAFU B U-17 tournament on Friday.

And NFF have commended the team for doing a great job.

“Congratulations to our Golden Eaglets who have qualified for the final for Wafu B U-17 Championship after defeating Ivory Coast 3-1. The feat ensured their qualification for the Afcon U-17 billed for Algeria,” the federation said on its Facebook page

In the second semi-final played on Tuesday Burkina Faso edged hosts Ghana 1-0, courtesy of a second half penalty converted by Ousamane Camara.

After a goalless first half, the deadlock was finally broken in the 64th minute after Burkina Faso were awarded a penalty which Camara converted.

The second semi-final result means both Burkina Faso and the Golden Eaglets will be at next year’s U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria.

The Golden Eaglets have remained in eaten in the tournament winning all their three matches against Ghana, Togo and Ivory Coast.
