Niger Tornadoes Humbled Malumfashi FC, Retains Leadership Position of NNL Group A2 after Matchday 4 of the 2020/2021 season.

The Ikon Allah boys have continued to demonstrate their supremacy on home turf with another resounding victory after a two nil drubbing of visiting Malumfashi FC at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna.

Tornadoes Technical Crew made few changes in the team, perhaps in anticipation of upcoming fixtures with Lukman Mohammed being rested alongside Jamiu Suleiman, meanwhile after impressing in the last game Jacob John made his first appearance in the starting line up.

The home team began the game like wounded lions in search of an early goal which paid off in as early as the sixth minutes of play after a foul on Ahmadu Liman inside the box, Musa Wakili converted the resultant penalty kick to hand Tornadoes the initiative.

As the game progresses and with both sides searching for goals Malumfashi had a momentary hold of possession but could not penetrate pass rock solid Sunday Akinmoladun and Daniel Edeh who were both sublime in the heart of Tornadoes defense.

Meanwhile, the home team ceased initiative and made a quick incursion into the opposition end with a silk display, an unlucky Nuhu Ibrahim the central defender of Malumfashi FC failed to clear the ball into safety and the process his goalkeeper hacked down Shamsudeen Hashim inside the box on the 33rd minute, a penalty was awarded and Tornadoes goal poacher Oche Josiah smashed the ball into the net to make it his fifth goal of the current campaign.

The second half which was generally drab produced no goal.

Malumfashi Head Coach, Shola Ibrahim Adewuyi who commended his boys for a spirited performance said his mission to Minna was to at least get a point… “Well the match has been won lost otherwise our mission here is to get at least a point but we look forward to the next game…” He enthused.

Niger Tornadoes Midfielder, Gabriel Jeremiah who produced a superb performance in the middle of the park, said the first half was brilliant from a collective point of view but they failed to sustain the momentum going into the second half… “We had a good game in the first half, got our goals, but we were a bit relax in the second, we will learn from it and plan ahead of the the next match.

Meanwhile Niger Tornadoes midfield kingpin Ahmadu Liman was voted Man of Match in the encounter.
