Niger Tornadoes combative midfielder, Afeez Nosiru was treated to a hero welcome in Kontagora as Niger Tornadoes engaged two local clubs in a friendly football match.
Afeez who featured in the earlier encounter against I.S.S FC of Kontagora dazzled the watching and soccer crazy Kontagora fans who trooped out to watch their darling teams play.
The former Kwara United and now Niger Tornadoes Midfield Marshall who is having a second stint with the Ikon Allah boys caught the eyes of the locals with his mesmerizing skills and top notch control of the midfield play, his usual trade mark, forcing the fans to chant his name.
He was likened to several foreign players such as Cesc Febregas, Andrea Pirlo and current Chelsea midfielder Ngolo Kante due to his exceptional gift of the round leather game. Some even refer to him as Tammy Abraham of Chelsea look alike, to which a cursory look at the Oshodi born Lagos indigene, Afeez Nosiru shares so many features, except their position of play, while the former is a striker, the later operates from the middle.
Some even argued or are of the opinion that the two players shares similar background, as Tammy Abraham who is said to have his root in Nigeria. Recalled that he recently turned down a chance to wear the green and white Jersey of Nigeria clearly showing his preference in dorning the three lions color.
Shortly after the match against I.S.S FC his admirer quickly rushed down the tunnel to have a photograph, some went as far as taking his contact a demonstration of genuine love for the player.
However, some fans upon hearing the news of Afeez Nosiru in town and his magical displays in the encounter against I.S.S trooped out to feed their eyes with lovely football skills in the second match against Kontagora Gov’s Cup Team, but went home disappointed as the player couldn’t feature in the second match as a result of a minor injury he sustained in earlier encounter.
No wonder some soccer pundits are beginning to ask why any of the national team handlers are yet to extend invitation to the multi talented footballer.
Afeez Nosiru turned down several offers before agreeing to pitch tent with Niger Tornadoes for a second time upon other several offers afterwards.
