The match which was originally scheduled to be played on Sunday 3rd April has been brought forward to Saturday 2nd April 2022 and it will take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo at four O’clock in the afternoon.

In a letter made available to both clubs and signed by the league’s Operating Officer Salihu Abubakar, the readjustment became necessary due to logistics reasons involving the two clubs.

The league organisers called on relevant stakeholders to ensure adequate logistics are provided for the successful hosting of the match.

The League organisers however regret any inconvenience the shift in date may have caused the fans of the clubs.

Akwa United cut the wide gap between them and their guest as they sat on 6th position with 27 points from 19 matches as against Rivers United’s first position with 42 points from same number of games
