The Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has splashed the sum of ₦150 million on the players and management of Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL champions, Rangers International FC.

Governor Mbah made the pledge in Enugu on Tuesday during Rangers trophy parade of the Ọkpara Square.

The Governor gave ₦100 million cash gift to the players as well as ₦50 million to the management of the club.

Also, the Governor gifted the players and management crew landed property in a yet to be disclosed location.

To cap the joyful moment, the governor gave the people Enugu State and by extension South East assurance that the Flying Antelopes will play their CAF Champions League matches at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

Rangers won the 2026 NPFL title on Sunday, May 24 in Lagos after defeating Ikorodu City 2-1 in an epic match at the Mobalaji Johnson Stadium.

The title was their 9th and their 2nd in three years. Rangers are now joint with Enyimba on 9 titles as the two most decorated League champions in the country.

With these life-changing rewards, public attention has quickly shifted to the club’s next big challenge: the CAF Champions League.

Sports analysts and fans note that while Governor Mbah has heavily motivated the home champions, aggressive recruitment and sustained funding will be necessary to battle continental giants like Egypt’s Al Ahly or South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Enugu State Government has reiterated its commitment to supporting the club to ensure that Rangers does not just participate, but actively competes to bring continental glory back to Nigeria.
