Niger Tornadoes defender Sunday Akinmoladun has called on his colleagues to brace up for victory ahead of the mid-week visit of Bayelsa United and the weekend game against Dakkada FC in Kaduna.
The Tornadoes skipper who speaks on the heels of the weekend defeat to Sunshine Stars of Akure in a match-day 7 encounter said… “Winning our next two matches before the break is a must, starting from the visit of Bayelsa United on wednesday”.
“It is everyone’s knowledge that we started the season very well with victory in Bauchi which was followed by a home win against Doma United, but since then, we have been struggling to regain back our form”. “The coaches are doing their best; the players too, but this time around we must be up and doing to avoid last season’s scenario when the battled for safety up till the last couple of games to end the season”.
“The two scoreless home draws against Rangers Int’l and Lobi Stars have no doubts affected our standing on the group ‘B’ log, but not withstanding, we must get back to winning ways, starting from the mid-week game”.
“We must not allow this dwindling form affect our performance, hope is not lost, even though it is an abridged season with few number of matches”.
The Ikon Allah Boys have scored 4 goals and conceded 5, a return that is not impressive, after a brilliant start to the season.
Tornadoes occupies the 6th place on the log with 8 points after 7 matches.
