As Muslims across the country began the Holy Month of Ramadan on Saturday, the Chairman, Plateau State Teqball Association (PLATEQ) Chief Miri Timnan Nyantau (MTN), have charged the Muslim followers to use the period to pray for sustained peace and unity in the country, can report.

Mr Nyantau who stated this in his congratulatory message to all Muslim Ummah on the commencement of the Holy Month of Ramadan, pleaded with the faithful to use the opportunity to seek the face of God to save Nigeria from palpable insecurity and hardships

In a statement released in Jos on Saturday and made available to our Correspondent, the astute administrator charged the Muslim community to seize the opportunity to seek God and intercede for the country amidst the state of difficulty, threat to national unity and economic downturn.

Mr Nyantau also implored the Muslim ummah to continually express their usual and unflinching support to the government at all levels and most especially as we approach the period of electioneering.

“The atmosphere in Plateau State must be sustained and build upon so as to achieve greater heights together as a people. I urge you to see this year’s fast as an ample opportunity to tap the blessings of Allah who is the giver of life”.

“On behalf of the PLATEQ EXCO and the entire teqball fraternity I wish you a blessed month of Ramadan,” he said

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs announced that 1443AH Ramadan will start in the country on Saturday, April 2.
