The National Association of Nigerian Players (NANF) has called on sports minister Sunday Dare to sack the executive committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) led by Amaju Pinnick as well as the congress on account of the corruption charges and probe brought against several senior officials.
In a letter dated September 25, 2019, addressed to the sports minister and signed by its president Harrison Jalla, NANF alleged that both the NFF and the congress have connived to loot several billions of Naira belong to Nigeria football.
The union therefore asked the sports minister to save the country’s football by sacking the executive committee and congress and setting up a normalisation committee, like Ghana did recently.

“Honourable Minister sir, you have no choice but to save our football now before the situation gets out of hand,” the players’ union urged.
“Activate the relevant clauses in the FIFA and NFF statutes over the dissolution of the board and the congress and set up a normalization committee to restructure Nigeria football.
“Borrow a leaf from Ghana.
“We can’t continue to sit down and watch Amaju Pinnick and his gang continue to ruin our future.”
NANF also commended the Federal Government in its committed fight against corruption.
“The Federal Government under the leadership of President Buhari has practically demonstrated it abhors corruption in the case of Babachir Lawal, former secretary to the FG, and recently with Oyo-Ita’s case, the former head of service of the federation and several others,” it restated.
