The National Association of Nigeria Football, NANF who made the commendation Sunday, eulogised the South East bases club for its professionalism in effect the life insurance package of their later striker, Ifeanyi George.

The club announced last week that the later player’s family will this week receive the sum of twenty million naira (N20, 000 000 . 00) as insurance package for the deceased.

“The club keeps strick adherence to the tenets of the standard professional players contract, and has the best camping facilities in the country with tastefully furnished accommodation for players. The Rangers management corporation is headed by a General manager with functional departments like, Legal, Welfare, Media, Marketing etc.

“Rangers International Just need to move one step forward into the stock market and the rest will be history because their shares will be over subscribed.

“In keeping with its main priority for welfare of players the General manager/CEO of Rangers Davidson Owumi announced early last week that the Rangers Management will be presenting a cheque of 20,000,000 million Naira to the family of late Ifeanyi George who died in a car accident on his way to Lagos during the COVID 19 pandemic break.

“This is the first time in the history of Nigeria football we have seen such a gesture, even though its a right for players to have life insurance policy by their clubs.

“A few months back we lost Chieme Martins of Nasarawa united on the field of play right in the presence of the sitting Governor of Nasarawa state, as we speak nothing to show for Martins death.

“We also lost Samuel Okwaraji right on the field of play at the National Stadium Surulere Lagos, the mother of late Samuel Okwaraji just died in penury a few weeks back. We can go on and on, the list is endless.

“Special Kudos must go to his Excellency Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state. Two things will continue to endear Governor Ugwuanyi to all football loving Nigerians: first is his comportment at the Asaba Township stadium during the AITEO cup final match between Rangers International and Kano pillars in 2018. “His Excellency remained glued to his seat and cheering his club, at this stage so many Rangers Fans have lost faith and where heading back to Enugu in the second half of the game. Governor Ugwuanyi’s patience paid off and Rangers miraculously came from 3 goals down to win the AITEO cup.
