Rangers International FC of Enugu coach, Abdul Maikaba have disclosed that the position of the club on the current Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL table does not justify the club’s ambition in the league season, www.bestchoicesports com.ng can report.

Maikaba who stated this on Friday ahead of Rangers clash with Gombe United matchday 17 this Saturday in Nnewi, said the seven-time champions’ target is to pick the maximum points from the game.

“Gombe United is a team with character and we respect them but our target in this match remains the three points at stake. Yes, I appreciate the fact that we have some injury worries in the team but we have capable replacements for this match,” the former Plateau United gaffer states after the club’s training at their temporarily adopted ground at the FC Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium, Nnewi Anambra State.

Coming from a hard-fought 1-1 draw in the oldest club rivalry encounter, midweek, in Ibadan against 3SC, the ‘Flying Antelopes’, will ambush visiting ‘Savannah Scorpions’, Gombe United F.C and neutralize its sting.

The encounter which is re-scheduled for Saturday, March 5, 2022, will happen at the F.C Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium, Ozubulu Road, Nnewi with kickoff fixed for 16.00 hours.
