Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, has expressed fears on the implications of playing in Group B of the African Cup of Nations holding in Egypt later in the year.

Nigeria is drawn alongside Guinea, Burundi and Madagascar.

Rohr who saw the draw ceremony at the Giza Pyramids, Cairo described the group as a very tough one saying that for Eagles to make any remarkable impact, that the players must be at their best and fit. He said that Guinea has a young, tough team while Burundi who eliminated Gabon even with their Arsenal man Pierre Aubameyang are no push over. Madagascar, he said was the first team to qualify, and will be out to prove a point at the tournament.

Rohr said the tournament would be a great spectacular but that it is important for his players to avoid injuries as the season heads towards the end.
 
The tactician’s statement was reiterated by the team Captain, Ahmed Musa who thinks that the group is tough, but the Super Eagles must stay fit and avoid injuries so that everyone would be in great shape in Egypt. He rated the chances of the Eagles very high at the tournament.
 
The groupings which would see two of the top teams qualifying is as follows:
 
GROUP A: Egypt, DR Congo, Uganda, Zimbabwe
 
GROUP B: Nigeria, Guinea, Madagascar, Burundi
 
GROUP C: Senegal, Algeria, Kenya, Tanzania
 
GROUP D: Morocco, Cote d’Ivoire, South Africa, Namibia
 
GROUP E: Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania, Angola
 
GROUP F: Cameroon, Ghana, Benin Republic, Guinea Bissau
