Liverpool star Mohammed Salah has reignited his frosty relationship with the Egyptian FA through a tweet which is believed could bring to an end his international engagement with the Egyptian team.

The latest tug comes after it emerged that the Egyptian FA failed to register two votes for their star man at the FIFA Best awards this week.

Barcelona’s Lionel Messi won the prize ahead of Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk, with Egypt Olympic team coach Shawky Ghareeb and national team captain Ahmed Elmohamady confirming they had nominated Salah for the top award

FIFA’s list of votes confirmed Egypt’s nominations were not included in the final analysis, with an administrative error being blamed by officials at the national association.

Vote registered

Salah’s only vote registered from Egypt in the FIFA Best awards came from journalist Hany Danial and, as he voted for Sadio Mane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Salah’s then went to Twitter on Tuesday evening with a message that appears to confirm he wasn’t pleased with the turn of events, with this incident adding to a lengthening list of spats with the Egyptian FA.

Salah was embroiled in a dispute over commercial rights earlier this year after expressing unhappiness at his image featuring prominently on the outside of the national team’s aeroplane.
