A former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh have related Senegal as a potential winner of the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations AFCON in Cameroon, can report.

Senegal, nicknamed The Lions of Teranga, on Sunday night defeated Equatorial Guinea 3-1 in the quarter-final of the AFCON to reach the last four.

Senegal are playing their second consecutive semi-finals after surpassing the same stage in 2019 where they played and lost in the final against Algeria.

Reacting to the victory, Oliseh who was also a former captain of the Super Eagles said the Senegalese have the potentials to go all the way with star players such as Sadio Mane, Edouard Mendy and a compact defence going into the last four

“Don’t bet against them,” the former Borussia Dortmund said.

Famara Diedhiou gave the Lions of Teranga the opener midway through the first half, but it was canceled out by Jannick Buyla before Cheikh Kouyate and Ismaila Sarr scored a goal each to send them through.
