President of Nigeria Shooting Sports Federation, NSSF, Brigadier-General Lonsdale Adeoye (Rtd), has, on behalf of the Board and Staff of the NSSF, condoled with President of the Nigerian Olympic Committee, Engr. Habu Gumel, over the sudden demise of his wife, Hajiya Khadijat Ahmed Ladi, who passed away on Tuesday morning, 20th October, 2020, at a private hospital in Abuja after falling ill.

General Adeoye who felt sorrowful upon hearing the sad news, expressed shock and sympathies for Engr. Habu Gumel and his family.

He described the Late Khadijat as a great mother, sister, aunt, mentor, and devout Muslim, who devoted her life to the service of God and humanity.

The NSSF President who lamented the demise of the virtuous woman, however, urged the NOC President and all those affected by the bereavement to take solace in the fact that the late Hajiya Khadijat lived a fulfilled and memorable life.

He prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Hajiya Khadijat Ladi Gumel in Aljanna Firdausi.

“While I pray to God to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljanah Firdaus, I, on behalf of the entire Board and other staff of the NSSF, also pray He gives Engr. Habu Gumel and the rest of his family the much-needed strength and comfort to bear the huge loss.”

She was aged 56 years, leaving behind four children.
