Sports Minister Commends Super Eagles Performance Against Brazil

The minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare has commended the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their performance against five-time world champions, Brazil, can report

Brazil came from behind to hold the Super Eagles to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly match played at Singapore National Stadium on Sunday.

The 2019 Copa America champions needed a 62 minute goal from Real Madrid Star, Casmiero to cancel out Joe Aribo’s first half opener.

Reacting to the outcome of the match, the minister who made series of tweets during the match commended the players for their performance adding that he has full confidence in them and expressed the need to keep the players together.

The minister who said that the players represent future for the national team added that “the Super Eagles are bankable”

“Brilliant ball movement. Terrific goal! Super Eagles Go!” the minister said when Joe Aribo scored for the Eagles.

“Nigeria-Brazil- Half time.Our boys are on top against one of the best in the world. Our Youth can excel in almost every endeavor because they have talents. Go on Super Eagles. Keep soaring. 45 more minutes.   We are all cheering for you.

“Great game of football! Ended in a one-all draw. Our boys were gallant & showed incredible commitment & industry against a star-studded Brazilian team. The current crop of players in the Super Eagles are bankable & we will do everything to keep them together & united! Well done!” he said after the match

The minister had Saturday engaged the officials and some players in telephone conversation to motivate them before the Sunday clash

“I spoke with some of the Super Eagles players this afternoon In Singapore. They are ready for the soccer battle tomorrow. I also spoke directly with Rohr who assured Nigerians the team will do the country proud.  And even though it’s a friendly they will approach D (the) game seriously,” he said Saturday.

The draw means that Super Eagles have drawn two matches since their 2019 AFCON 3rd place finish. The team September played a 2-2 scoreline against European side Ukraine in another friendly.
