Nigeria’s senior male football team the Super Eagles have moved on place in the latest FIFA Ranking released on Thursday.

The June ranking released by the world football governing body sees Nigeria move from 40th in the last ranking to 39. The position leaves the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON winners 6th best team in Africa.

Africa’s five best football nations include Morocco, AFCON champions, Senegal; Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt.

Morocco, 2022 World Cup semi-finalist drops from 11th to 13th position in the World. followed by Senegal 18; Tunisia 31, Algeria 33 and Egypt 34 while Nigeria is 39.

In the global ranking, current World champions, Argentina are placed first in the World with 1843.73 points followed by 2018 World Cup winners, France in second position with 1843.54 points while Brazil sit third with 1828.27 points.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 20 July.
