Nigeria’s Super Falcons have qualified for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON after beating Cape Verde 2-1 away on Tuesday.

The nine-time Africa Champions came from behind to beat the host and qualify for the tournament on 7-1 aggregate. The Super Falcons are making their 15th consecutive appearance in the tournament next year

Ivania Moreira rattled the Super Falcons just eight minutes in the game after she scored the opener

However, Esther Okoronkwo who scored a brace in the first leg in Abuja on Thursday restored parity on 62nd minute.

Captain of the side, Rasheedat Ajibade scored the winning goal on added time to hand the Falcons their ticket to the tournament.

Nigeria becomes the 12th team to qualify for the tournament after host Morocco (automatic qualification) South Africa, Algeria, Tanzania, Ghana, Botswana, DR Congo, Senegal, Zambia, Tunisia and Mali
