The Chairman and board of Taraba State Teqball Association, Tasteq have lauded the Nigeria Teqball Federation NIGTEQ for conducting a successful and impactful coaches and referees training.

In a release signed by the chairman of the Association, Mahmud Sanusi Mohammed, it noted with gratitude the unquantifiable level the Executive Board of NIGTEQ is targeting towards making the beautiful sport a household name in Nigeria.

Mr Mohammed who himself was a participant at the four-day capacity training held in Nigeria’s city of power, Abuja noted that the ability of the federation to organise and coordinate the training within a short notice from the Federation of International Teqball FITEQ, shows that the the sport is in the right hand of individuals to manage.

“We at Taraba State Teqball Association, Tasteq cannot express our gratitude enough to the Executive Board of the Nigeria Teqball Federation, NIGTEQ on the way and manner they conducted and handled the training for coaches and referees.

“Apart from the distribution of 56 Teqball tables last months to states Associations, this is one event that tested the board and they came out on top. Despite the short notice for the training from our international body, FITEQ, the board exhibited managerial accume in organising the four-day capacity training for selected coaches and referees from across the country.

“We are glad and happy over the success of the training as the federation has now laid a solid foundation for the smooth takeoff of the sport in the country,” he said.

The Tasteq chairman further noted that the training will serve a springboard for the sport to develop faster in Taraba State and across the country.

He charged other state Associations to ensure that the knowledge gained is put to judicious use for the good of the game.

A total of 31 participants selected from across the country took part in the training. At the end of the course, 25 passed as referees while 26 passed as coaches. However, 5 participants were unsuccessful in the exams conducted at the end of the training.

The training which commenced on Saturday, 10th April was rounded up on 13 April, 2021
