Team Delta has promised to successfully defend its National Sports Festival, NSF, title it won at the 19th edition in Abuja in 2018, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The Director-General, Delta State Sports Commission, Sir Chris Anazia stated this in an interview with journalists in Asaba.

Sir Anazia said the State’s contingent was ready to return victorious from the 20th edition of the NSF tagged Edo 2020 in Benin City.

The DirectorGeneral said the six-time NSF winners were already putting their acts together to retain the title as they were judiciously following the scheduled plans aimed at getting the team in top shape to win.

Sir Anazia said the athletes would soon go into camping for the Zonal eliminations which will be held in Asaba from 20th  to 24th of January. He said the Delta State Sports Commission would organize its own trials for athletes that would represent the state at the festival in Benin City.

According to him the trials would be held in February before the athletes would enter into one month closed camping. Sir Anazia revealed that the State government had assured the athletes of total support to return with the trophy stressing that Team Delta was keen on breaking the jinx of never winning the National Sports Festival whenever it was hosted in the South-south.
