Vandrezzer FC Coach Everton, Player Resign

Few weeks ago, it was reported that Vandrezzer FC coach, Rafael Everton was hospitalized after he experienced chest pain during training and was rushed to a hospital.

While news of his recovery is being awaited, Mr Everton has however resigned from his position as head coach of the Nigeria National League, NNL campaigners.

The Brazilian’s resignation did not come alone as one other compatriot player Alberico Da Silva in the club’s payroll also left the club.

The club announced their resignations via their website on Sunday.

“VFC hereby announces that Rafael Everton has departed the club.

“Everton who entered a new contract with VFC prior to the commencement of the 2020/2021 season has resigned via a letter dated February 27, 2021 received by email today.

“Jose Israel De Lira and a player, Alberico Da Silva have also done same via the same medium,” the club’s statement read.

However, while the reasons for their resignations are yet ascertained, the club noted that Assistant Coach, Madaki Alfred who has lead the Lions in league match victory against Nilayo FC and most recently, a draw against Nnewi United, would continue as Acting head coach of the first team, and will be assisted by ex-international player, Patrick Udoh.

“We wish Everton, Jose Isreal and Alberico well in their future endeavors,” the club added.

Vandrezzer FC recently left Akwa Ibom state and relocated to Lagos where they are currently based and use Agege Stadium as their home ground in prosecuting the 2020/2021 NNL season.
