Super Eagles and Lille of France striker, Victor Osimhen has dedicated his recent African Best Player Award to his late father, Patrick Osimhen, Bestchoicesports.com.ng reports

Osimhen was in the weekend awarded Marc-Vivien Foe Prize for African Best Player plying their trade in the French Ligue 1.

He defeated compatriot, Moses Simon to win the coveted award for the first time in his first season in the French League.

Osihmen who buried his late father in Lagos on Wednesday last week dedicated the award to his late father.

He thanked those who voted for him and gave a shutout to his fellow nominee and national teammate, Moses Simon who also plays in league but with Nantes FC.

“Grateful to GOD for almighty🙏🏽🙏🏽I dedicate this amazing award to my late father,” elevated Osimhen stated on his twitter account adding “Thanks to those who voted for me and also a big shoutout goes to @Simon27Moses and the rest of the nominees…thank you once more🙏🏽,” he said.

It could be recalled that the former U-17 World Cup winner was recently awarded Lille’s Player of the Season.

Victor Osimhen has spent just a season in the Ligue 1 which was cancelled in May following the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic.
