The matchday 4 of the ongoing NPFL Super 6 encounter between Rangers FC of Enugu and Kano Pillars of Kano was marred by violence after Rangers equalised Pillars one goal lead.
Pandemonium started after the centre referee awarded Rangers a penalty on the 90th minute which was converted by Godwin Aguda. Pillars had taken the lead on the 58th minutes courtesy of Rabiu Ali’s free kick.
But when it appeared that the Kano-based side were headed for the three points, a penalty was awarded to Rangers after which fans started throwing stones into the field.
Report says the centre referee was immediately whisked away for safety.
The match ended 1-1.
