Ahead of Nigeria’s clash with Ivory Coast today at the ongoing 2021 West Africa Football Union, WAFU Zone B tournament in Togo, Golden Eaglets of Nigeria have cried foul as the team are yet to undergo the mandatory Magnetic resonance imaging, MRI.

Nigeria is scheduled to take on the Little Elephants by 5pm today, Wednesday, January 6, but as at Tuesday night, the players have not carried out the test with the officials of the team crying foul alleging conspiracy against the five-time World Cup winners.

In a release by the Golden Eaglets Media Officer, Francis Archi, it noted that “From all indications, it appears that there is a massive conspiracy against the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria here in Lome, the venue of WAFU B U 17 tournament.

“The Golden Eaglets were the first to land Lome, Togo on Sunday for the Tournament. As at the time of filing this report the team is yet to do the mandatory MRI tests for the players.

“The Golden Eaglets waited 1pm Togo time for the MRI tests, sadly the players are to conduct the test.

“The WAFU B Tournament organisers rescheduled the MRI test to 9PM Togo time and the more shocking thing is that only twelve players will undergo the MRI tests this evening while the remaining 13 players will have theirs by 7am tomorrow the day of the game,” part of the release read.

Meanwhile, the Baby Elephants that came in yesterday (Monday) have all performed their MRI tests, gone back to their hotel to relax ahead of the game.

Ivory Coast Set In Advanced Party Ahead of Time

But former Gombe state Football Association, chairman, Alhaji Gara Gombe reacting to the alleged conspiracy against the Nigeria said that reason the Ivorians got their test ahead of Nigeria despite coming in 24 hours later than Nigeria was because they sent in advanced party to work with the tournament organisers in set up their MRI test.

“After I read your post, I called someone, an official of Ivorian FA and asked him about their MRI. He says they sent a Team in advance to arrange and coordinate their MRI with the Tournament organisers before the Arrival of the Team.

“That may be what happened,” Gara said.
