A total of 24 Super Eagles players are right now in Eko Hotel Lagos, their camp for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Lone Stars of Liberia and Blue Shacks of Cape Verde, with captain, Ahmed Musa and defender, Troost-Ekong arriving to the camp on Monday, can report

The 24 players in camp include Tyronne Ebuehi, Leone Balogun, Ola Aina, William Troost-Ekong, Maduka Okoye, Terem Moffi, Jamilu Collins, Valentine Ozornwafor and Innocent Bonke.

Others are: Moses Simon, Shehu Abdullahi, Ahmed Musa, Samuel Kalu, Daniel Akpeyi, Adekunle Adeleke, Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Oghenekaro Etebor, Francis Uzoho, Henry Onyekuru, Chidera Ejuke, Kingsley Michael, Wilfred Ndidi as well as Kenneth Omeruo in camp.

Super Eagles will take on Liberia this Friday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos by 4pm Nigeria time.

Nigeria begin their race for the 2022 Fifa World Cup with a clash against Liberia this week.

The Super Eagles – who have participated in the global football showpiece on six occasions – are hoping to earn a berth to Qatar 2022

However, they must negotiate their way past the Lone Star, Cape Verde and the Central African Republic in Group C of the qualifiers.

For Peter Butler’s men, they would be eyeing an upset against Gernot Rohr’s side in a bid to fuel their ambitions of reaching the World Cup for the first time ever.

Since making her debut in 1994 World Cup in USA, the Super Eagles have participated in all editions of the quadrennial global showpiece but one.

The team missed out on 2006 edition Germany after Angola finished above Nigeria based on head-to-head results in the group qualifiers.

Palancas Negras defeated the Eagles 1-0 at home but forced them to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture.

Nigeria is hoping to qualify for the 7th edition of the competition but would need to navigate Liberia, Cape Verde and Central Africa Republic hurdles before the final 2-leg qualifying race by the 10 teams that would top their groups.
