The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare has assured Nigerians that the ministry will leave no stone unturned in its efforts to repair the damaged working relationship between the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF and the Super Falcons coach, Thomas Dennerby, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The minister gave the assurance Tuesday morning after he spoke with the NFF leadership and coach Dennerby in order to broker peace between the two.

Best Choice Sports reported Monday that the 60-year Swedish coach had dumped the Super Falcons barely a year to the end of his two-year contract over interference by some cabals in the federation. Some individuals in the Women Football Development as well as the Secretariat have been making Dennerby’s work a lot more difficult by deciding whom he should invite or exclude in a match.

Prominent among this is the exclusion of Super Falcons captain, Desire Oparanozie from the second round Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifier against Cote’d’Voire later in the month. Consequently, the coach refused to return for the two-legged qualifiers even as he was not the one who drafted the list of invited players for the away and home matches.

Responding to the reports Monday, the minister promised to wade in and find a solution to the crisis.

“I have personally stepped into the matter of Thomas Dennerby, the coach of Super Falcons. I received a brief this morning and will proceed to seek a quick resolution to ensure he continues to Coach Nigeria’s female team,” he tweeted on Monday.

Matching words with action, the minister Tuesday morning spoke with the two parties and gave assurance of resolving the issue.

“An hour ago I had a constructive conversation on the telephone with Super Falcons Coach Dennerby in Sweden. I have also spoken with the NFF leadership. We are working to resolve the issues in the interest of football development,” the minister tweeted Tuesday morning.
